I can sense that something is happening

On Nordic light, and why spring feels different here

vårkänslor-blogg

There’s something different about spring here in Sweden. Not just that it gets warmer, but that the light actually comes back.

After months of short, dark days, you notice it immediately.
The way it lingers in the morning.
The way it stretches into the evening.

And suddenly, everything feels a little different; your home, your energy, even your thoughts. As if something in you starts to respond.

Something is changing, and I can’t quite put my finger on exactly when it happens.

One morning, it’s just a little easier to wake up.
The light lingers a little longer in the room.
And suddenly, it doesn’t feel quite as natural to head straight home.

It’s as if something inside me is stretching awake again. The pace changes. My thoughts move a little faster, my steps feel a little lighter. I find myself wanting to do small things I wouldn’t even have thought about a few weeks ago.

Open the window.
Move the chair, just to catch the sun.
Sit with my coffee a little longer than I meant to.

And the beautiful thing is, it doesn’t have to be any bigger than that. Spring isn’t always about big changes. Sometimes it’s just the feeling that something is possible again. That you want to say yes a little more often. That everyday life takes on a different rhythm.

I notice it in the little things:
taking the long way home because it’s still light out,
texting someone for no particular reason,
starting to think, “That might actually be fun.”

It’s not something I planned. It just happens. And maybe that’s when spring is at its best—not in everything we think we’re going to do, but in what quietly slips in and makes us want a little more.

A little more life.
A little more people.
A little more of everything that makes us feel.

And all at once, you’re right in the middle of it. 🌿
