Our Best study From Home-tips

More energy and less pain

Hey buddies, January is ending but the term has only just begun – and for most of us that means many long days of studying from home lie ahead. How do you stay focused? Here are our best tips for how to avoid running out of energy or hurting all over.

  1. Get outside in the mornings! Squeeze your first walk of the day in before you start studying – even if you’re not heading for campus, some fresh air is a good way to start the day. Even just walking around the block will help you wake up.
  2. Variation is key We’re guessing you might not have the most ergonomic workspace ever in your student flat – we’re all lucky that it’s more important to change positions often than to have the most expensive office chair. Spend some time writing at your desk or kitchen table. Make a pile of books, place your laptop on top and stand up for a while. Move to your couch (or bed!) and read a chapter there. Start over.
  3. Call a friend Meet up for a walk (bonus points for snow angels or snowball fights), or get together over facetime for lunch. Some company can save almost any study day from feeling endless.
  4. Take a movement break Spend a few moments getting your body moving every now and again. It will be worth it, promise. Youtube is of course a gold mine for finding good video instructions. To get you started, University of Stockholm invites you to join Åsa and take a workout pause.

Here’s to a great start to February – as good as it gets right now.
