Retake Exam Period

The weirdest time of the student year?

omtenta-p

Not quite summer break. Not quite the start of a new semester. Just you, a textbook, and a mild existential crisis.

There’s a stretch of time every year that nobody really talks about.
Summer is still here. The sun is shining. People are posting pictures from lakeside cliffs, music festivals, and summer cottages. Meanwhile, you’re sitting there trying to remember what “Introduction to Statistical Methods” was actually about.

Welcome to retake exam season. It’s a strange time.
Campus is almost empty. The hallways echo a little more than usual. The library is populated by a very specific group of people.

One of the first things that happens is that you log back into Canvas after several weeks of complete denial.
And there it is. The course is still there. Exactly where you left it. A little rude, honestly.

Then begins the hunt for your notes. They exist somewhere. Probably in a folder called “New Folder,” “New Folder 2,” or “IMPORTANT”

And when you finally find them, you discover that apparently, sometime during the spring, you thought it was a great idea to leave yourself notes like:
“Look this up later.”

Thanks for the help, past me.

But there’s something kind of nice about retake exam season, too.
The pace is different. A little calmer. A little less comparison.
Nobody seems to have everything under control. Everyone is just trying to reconnect with the studying part of their brain after weeks of late nights, ice cream breaks, and full-on summer mode.

And honestly?
Most of the time, you know more than you think.

So if you’re in the middle of retake exam season right now, we just want to say one thing:
You’re not alone.
All across student apartments, libraries, and kitchen tables, plenty of other students are trying to remember formulas, theories, and assignments they would have preferred to forget.

Grab a cup of coffee. Open the document. Read the first page.
And when it’s all over, the rest of summer will still be out there waiting for you.

There’s something pretty nice about that.
